Two Professors from the University of Nihon, Tokyo, Japan visited CTAS on 22nd September 2022 to create awareness of women’s empowerment and self-sustainability through a cookie-making program. Professor Thakamasu had visited CTAS in earlier years to conduct awareness sessions on health and hygiene, which were found very educational and useful.
The whole idea is to teach the students, specifically female students how to make healthy and nutritious cookies, alongside marketing strategies to make the products in a sustainable way. The participants were also taught on packaging and labeling of ingredient information, including manufacture and expiry date were inserted. One group made snowball cookies and another group made buckwheat cookies.
The female students as well as the staff who took part in the program were very pleased with the session, which was very educative, interesting, and an important skill, which can be pursued either as a career or as an interest to sustain in the society
